Now, IIYT is thrilled to announce that we have established an affiliation with Northwestern Medicine Living Well Cancer Resources to continue our mission: to prepare graduates of our accredited yoga therapy program to effectively integrate yoga into health care practices and therapy, and to coordinate with medical professionals to introduce yoga therapy to their patients for physical and emotional pain management.

SAVE THE DATE: Symposium on Clinical Advancements of Yoga: Updates on Evidence-Based Research in Yoga Therapy

International Institute of Yoga Therapy's annual Symposium on Clinical Advancements of Yoga will be held January 15-17, 2027 at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI.

This event provides health care professionals, yoga therapists, and interested individuals working in related health care organizations a forum for exploring challenges and efficacy relating to current and emerging clinical applications of yoga as indicated by evidence-based research in yoga therapy. The program provides a format encouraging debate, dialogue, and fellowship, and at the conclusion of the event, attendees will be able to utilize up-to-date, evidence-based information and research to effectively integrate yoga into health care practices and therapy. Our past Symposiums featured presentations such as:

--"Zero to Thrive: Clinical Research in Yoga Therapy for At Risk Populations" with Maria Muzik, MD

-- "An Investigation of Current Research of the Use of Yoga Therapy Breathing Techniques as an Aspect of Multimodule Care for Post-Stroke Symptom Management" with Clinical Extern R. Mikol

--"Evidence-Based Research in Cancer Pain Management: Health Care Diversity in Oncology and Yoga: Are They a Good Fit?" with Eleanor Walker, MD,

among many other lectures, movement sessions, small group discussions, Q&A panels, and much more!

The International Institute of Yoga Therapy has served the Michigan area for two decades as an advanced program of study dedicated in the clinical applications of yoga therapy and research. Graduates of our program are eligible to become Certified Yoga Therapists and receive didactic education and clinical experience delivered both onsite and virtually within IIYT’s affiliated teaching hospitals.

We are excited to announce that we will begin offering all of our programming at our *NEW* Chicago Campus starting in the Fall of 2027!

"Awareness and Action in Addressing Racism" is a multi-part transformative series hosted by IIYT Faculty Member and Community Health Leader, Canisha Norris (CIAYT).
